Things were already starting to heat up this morning between Clay Guida and Erik Koch during the official weigh-ins for UFC Fight Night 112. Clay Guida has something to prove as he’s lost six of his last nine fights.  Erik Koch will be striving for a back-to-back win, something he hasn’t been able to pull off since 2011. Both of these hungry fighters will be fighting for their first time ever in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Sunday, June 25th, 2017. You can catch it on FS1.

Each fighter brings his own talent to the octagon, Erik Koch brings his ability to knock out his opponent with his lethal strikes, and Clay Guida brings his high endurance and superior wrestling skills. Will this fight feed the momentum Erik Koch has been working so hard for, or will this finally be the match that pulls Clay Guida back to his feet after being knocked down so many times recently? There’s a lot of debate over this highly anticipated match, so let’s take a look at the stats:

Clay Guida

Record: 34-14 winning 41% by submission

As of Recently: Lost six of his last nine fights

Last Fight: Loss due to knock out by Brian Ortega earlier this month

Average Significant Strikes Per Minute: 2.25

Accuracy percentage: 38.1%

Attributes: Strong wrestler, fierce fighter, high endurance

Erik Koch

Record: 15-4 winning 53% by submission

As of Recently: Win over Shane Campbell in May

Average Significant Strikes Per Minute: 2.32

Accuracy Percentage: 42.2%

Attributes: Extremely powerful hitter, beat five of his last six opponents

Although their stats don’t seem too far apart, Koch and Guida are each bringing different strengths to the octagon, which would be making this an almost perfect match up if it wasn’t for Guida currently being in the lowest point of his career.

Prediction: Koch wins by KO!!!
